MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN OF ST. FRANCISVILLE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN, ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2017 at 6:30 P. M.
The Town of St. Francisville Board of Aldermen met in special session this 20th day of February, 2017 at 11936 Ferdinand St., Town Hall, St. Francisville, LA. The meeting was called to order at 6:33 p. m. with the following members present: Mayor William H. D’Aquilla, Aldermen James R. Leake, Alderman Abby T. Cochran, Alderman Gigi Robertson, Alderman Susanne “Susie” Tully and Alderman Joseph “Bryan” Kelley. Also present were Town Attorney Jesse Means, Main Street Manager Laurie Walsh, Police Chief Scott Ford and Town Clerk Shannon Sturgeon.
Absent: Assistant Town Attorney Leslie Daniel
The pledge was led by Susie Tully.
– Member of the Historic District Commission
Mrs. Mott expressed that the Historic District Commission is made up of a group of appointed volunteers who make recommendations based on the ordinances and the guidelines established for the Historic District and that if the Board of Alderman grants variances to those recommendations then there really is no point to having a Historic District Commission.
To Discuss and/or Take Action on Compromise Agreement Offered By George H. & Sandra S. Ware in Regard to Windows for Their Art Studio and Home Located in the Historic District at 11807 Ferdinand.
George H. and Sandra S. Ware proposed that in exchange for the Board of Alderman approving the use of the vinyl insulated windows originally designated in the Studio plan, they would agree to the replacement of their residence’s two vinyl insulated front porch windows facing Ferdinand Street with “wooden true divided light” windows.
The Board of Alderman discussed and clarified the compromise offered by Mr. & Mrs. Ware.
Motion made by James R. Leake, seconded by Abby T. Cochran to allow vinyl windows to be installed on the rear of the of the studio in exchange for a wooden true divided light window to be installed on the front of the studio visible from Ferdinand and the two existing vinyl windows on the front of the residence facing Ferdinand to be replaced with wooden true divided light windows.

Motion by James R. Leake, seconded by Bryan Kelley to adjourn the meeting at 6:57 p.m. Motion carried.
